What to Wear
We really don’t care as long as you are comfortable. You won’t see many ties or dresses but if, you want to wear a tuxedo and formal gown, you’ll probably have no problem getting people to talk to you! Most of the guys wear jeans or slacks and the girls wear pants or a dress. Our pastor normally wears slacks with a button down shirt and a tie.
Getting Here
If you are coming on a Sunday morning, traffic is not an issue. We are super easy to get to as we are just one block off of I-45. Our small groups start at 9:30am and our service starts at 11am, and people normally start arriving around 10:45am.
Parking
You can park anywhere in the front parking lot and if need be in the lot right behind the play-land. There are no special spots for visitors, members, pastors or deacons (we do have handicap parking available). Find a great spot and it’s yours!
The Building
We meet for Small Groups (Sunday School) in our education building and then we walk across the parking lot to the sanctuary building for church. Feel free to come in either main entrances. People will greet you at the door and have some coffee ready for you. The bulletin has more information about the morning service, upcoming events, and other tidbits. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any of the church members as they are all happy to help you. They are there to assist you with whatever you need.
Nursery
If you have children ages two and under we provide a nursery with qualified workers. The nursery will be to your right as you walk down the main hallway of the education building. You’ll know you’re there when you see the big windows that look directly on to our precious children.
The Service
We typically start out singing with hymns and choruses. On the fourth Sunday of each month we sing with our worship band.
About halfway through the service, all the kids come up to the front for a special time with the pastor or one of our children’s leaders. Pastor Bob normally preaches for about 40 minutes.
After the Service
People normally stick around for 15-20 minutes and talk, so don’t feel like you have to leave right away even if everything is being turned off and shut down (okay, who wants to sit in a dark room, but you know what we mean).
Hopefully that will give you a good idea of what a Sunday morning is like at Ferris Baptist Fellowship, but the only way you’ll truly get the experience is if you come and visit. We can’t wait to meet you.
